COVID-19: Saudi Arabia Accepting Volunteers in the Fight Against the Epidemic
<p>Healthcare workers are being hailed as modern-day heroes in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic. Now, with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia accepting volunteers in its fight against the contagion, both medical workers and non-healthcare professionals have their chance to serve the country.</p> <p>For those who have expressed their interest in volunteering, the Kingdom has two different types of Volunteer Programs. For those in the non-medical field, you can join the Saudi Red Crescent Volunteer Program. The volunteering opportunities will focus on health awareness drives, distribution of relief packets, epidemic investigation, and the like.</p> <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"><p>“Volunteering is a noble act and a great behavior that supports efforts to combat the epidemic. Thanks to every volunteer who has devoted their time and effort to serving our dear homeland.”</p><cite>&#8211; Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Saudi health minister</cite></blockquote> <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="999" height="666" src="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2021/03/Doctors-walking-burqah-1.jpg" alt="COVID-19: Saudi Arabia Accepting Volunteers in the Fight Against the Epidemic" class="wp-image-10571" title="COVID-19: Saudi Arabia Accepting Volunteers in the Fight Against the Epidemic" srcset="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2021/03/Doctors-walking-burqah-1.jpg 999w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2021/03/Doctors-walking-burqah-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2021/03/Doctors-walking-burqah-1-768x512.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 999px) 100vw, 999px" /></figure> <p>Healthcare professionals, on the other hand, can volunteer under the auspices of the Ministry of Health (MoH), KSA. Physicians, consultants, nurses, and other allied health professions (even medical students) are invited to offer their services.
