<p class="p1"><span class="s1">There’s more to a GCC country than camels and sand. </span></p> <div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="680" src="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1024x680-1.jpg" alt="Working in A Gulf Country" class="wp-image-9323" srcset="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1024x680-1.jpg 1024w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1024x680-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1024x680-1-768x510.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Even Roger Federer, the man most people think of as tennis’ greatest of all time, thinks so. He lives part of the year in Dubai, when he’s not competing in other parts of the globe. So he knows all the benefits of working in a gulf country.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">What makes a cosmopolitan man like Mr. Federer prefer Dubai, an emirate? Why would movie franchises like <i>The Fast and the Furious</i> and <i>Mission Impossible</i> make it a point to film in GCC member countries? Because the worlds’ movers and shakers are not just in New York or London, they’re also in the Middle East. Career-wise, this would be a giant step for you to be a wunderkind. We’re not even talking about compensation, which is nothing to scoff at. Let’s gloss over what most companies give as benefits (30 days paid leave, free flights back home, no taxes, etc a mile long). Let’s take a look at why working in a GCC country will be one of the best decisions you have ever made.</span></p> <div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="569" src="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/BANNER-Benefits-of-Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1.jpg" alt="Working in A Gulf Country" class="wp-image-9324" srcset="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/BANNER-Benefits-of-Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1.jpg 1024w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/BANNER-Benefits-of-Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1-300x167.jpg 300w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/BANNER-Benefits-of-Working-in-A-Gulf-Country-1-768x427.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Think of the sheer variety of people you will meet. While it’s true that every person you meet is an opportunity to be enriched by the encounter, there’s something different about the Arab people and the way they treat strangers. Hospitality and generosity is inculcated into their psyche. Don’t be surprised if you get offered the best food in the house.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">It’s a whole different lifestyle. The lifestyle you get to enjoy will depend on the country you work in. If you find yourself working in Saudi Arabia, you will get to enjoy taking a peek into a culture that is mostly closed to western influences. If you find yourself working in Qatar, you will find yourself in the richest country in the world that is still not done with upgrading it’s five-star quality of life.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">You get to travel. It’s the Middle East, baby. As in right smack in the middle of Asia, Africa, and Europe. The Pyramids of Giza may just be a long weekend away. Backpacking Europe is no longer a pipe dream for most workers here. But why go far? The Middle East is where civilization was born, and you can find many sites that will satisfy the wanderlust in you.</span></p> <div class="wp-block-image wp-image-3266 size-large"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="683" height="1024" src="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Nursing-Student-683x1024-1.jpg" alt="Working in A Gulf Country" class="wp-image-9325" srcset="https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Nursing-Student-683x1024-1.jpg 683w, https://production-prod-trueprofile-blogassets-origin.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/uploads/2016/06/Nursing-Student-683x1024-1-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px" /><figcaption>Be set up for success</figcaption></figure></div> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">Lastly, working in gulf country will make you truly a citizen of the world. And that’s something that everybody should aspire to be.</span></p> <p class="p1"><em><span class="s1">Picture attribution <a href="https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><span class="s2">CC BY 2.0<br></span></a>flickr.com/jlascar<br>flickr.com/lensnmatter<br>flickr.com/jocelyndurston<br>flickr.com/waltstoneburner</span></em></p>
